An advance on lawsuit can be availed of through agencies that loan out money to plaintiffs involved in a lawsuit. If a settlement is reached, the plaintiff will need to repay the loan. If not, most loan agencies don’t seek a repayment. This, however, will need to be worked out through an attorney, preferably one working on your case.

Such lawsuit advances can greatly help plaintiffs embroiled in a legal battle. What’s even better is that you don’t necessarily need to use the advance to pay off medical bills and the like. If the agency agrees, plaintiffs can use the money for any number of reasons.

Those filing for damages can expect to get money from the settlement a month after the defendant has issued a check. However, the plaintiff’s attorney will be the one who holds the money in a trust account. After his contingency fees and other bills like mailing charges or liens have been paid off, the remainder is handed over to the plaintiff.

Settlement can be made in a single payment or through a series of payments. Whatever the case may be, it is the waiting that’s hard and anyone filing for a lawsuit would do well to get a lawsuit advance to tide them out during the wait. Once the settlement has been paid, all dues can be cleared and you can move on with your life.
